Two former Valley Leaguers have been named to the Brooks Wallace Shortstop of the Year “watch list,” and in a strange twist, they were teammates in the Valley just last summer! (Both played for the Waynesboro Generals.)

The first player is Michael Brosseau, the shortstop at Oakland. Michael is currently hitting 340/440/549 in 162 at-bats for the Golden Grizzlies. Michael leads Oakland in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, run, hits, home runs, walks, and stolen bases. Wow.

The second is Ryan Gridley, who plays at Mississippi State. Ryan is hitting 284/342/347 in 146 at-bats for the Bulldogs.

Congrats to both! The winner will be announced on July 2nd- half way through the Valley League season!
