2016 Full Season A Pitcher of the Year

MiLB: MAY 02 Clearwater Threshers at Tampa YankeesOur full season A-ball pitcher of the year is James Reeves (Staunton 2013)!

In a season full of stiff competition, James has risen to the top with his performance at High-A Tampa in the Florida State League and Low-A Charleston in the South Atlantic League. James pitched 17 times out of the bullpen and started 12 games for Tampa, and appeared 4 times out of the bullpen for Charleston. Overall, he went 6-2, 2.32, with a 0.90 WHIP, 2.8 BB/9, and 10.51 K/9 in 93 1/3 innings pitched. He finished the year at Double-A Trenton of the Eastern League, and couldn’t be hit there, either. In 4 games, he gave up 0 earned runs, and struck out 8 in 4 innings.

James was drafted in the 10th round in 2015 by the Yankees. After the draft, he has assigned to Staten Island of the New York-Penn League, where he went 1-1, 3.08, with 27 strikeouts in 26 1/3 innings pitched.

I imagine Reeves will start 2017 at Trenton- congrats on your excellent season!
