Harrisonburg 7, Covington 3 (Turks remain 2 back of Waynesboro with 4 games left, but have clinched a top 2 finish; Jacks are locked into the 3rd spot in the South. By the way, Jose Carrera hit his 5th triple of the season!)
Staunton 9, Charlottesville 6 (Braves now 3 games ahead of Tom Sox for last playoff spot in South; both teams have 6 games left.)
Front Royal 7, Woodstock 2 (Cards even up their record at 19-19, Bandits fall to 11-27, and are eliminated from the playoff chase.)
Winchester 4, New Market 3 (11 innings, Royals come back with 2 in the 9th to tie it, 1 in 11th to win. Royals now 22-15, Rebs are 15-23 and a half game behind Purcellville for last playoff spot in the North.)
Hitter of the Day
For the 2nd time in 5 days, our hitter of the day is Covington’s Riley Mihalik, from Rider! Riley went 3-4, with a run and 2 doubles. He’s hitting a robust 457/537/686 in 35 at-bats this summer. He’s given the Jacks a hot bat in the middle of the lineup since his arrival!
