  1. John – Over 4 hours to play for Covington at Strasburg in a 4-2 game is accurate and you can blame it on the weather (a frequent disrupter of the Valley League schedule and games). One or more rain delays extended the game. It’s a darn good thing for Covington that the game was completed – the Lumberjacks have been the most heavily impacted by weather team in the league this summer – including horrendous flooding in Covington June 23-24. Through July 13, New Market has had start of game rain delays the last two nights, but has played the most games – 33, while Covington and Staunton have played only 28. As a result, they are scheduled for two double-headers – July 15th at Staunton and July 23rd at Covington.
