2015 Double A Pitcher of the Year

2014 Winner: Drew Rucinski (Luray 2009-10)

2015 Winner: Chad Kuhl (New Market 2012)

Chad Kuhl 2014 Bradenton head shotThe Valley League had quite a few excellent performers at the Double-A level in 2015. The best, though, was Chad Kuhl, a former Rebel back in 2012. Chad pitched for Altoona in the Eastern League, and went 11-5, 2.48 in 26 starts and 152 2/3 innings pitched. His WHIP was 1.14, BB/9 2.4, and K/9 6.0. Chad is also our first repeat winner, as he was ATVL’s “Full Season A” pitcher of the year in 2014.

It certainly seems that Mr. Kuhl has a bright future ahead of him. He’s starting to be listed with the Pirates’ top pitching prospects, and one site mentioned that Chad’s fastball can reach 97 mph. In fact, 2016 may be the year- who knows?
