Williams, UCF Have Banner Day

Sure, with the new baseballs being used in NCAA baseball, offense is greatly increased.

Still, though, what Tommy Williams (Staunton 2013-14) did last night is nothing short of amazing.

The 7th ranked Central Florida Knights traveled to Daytona Beach to take on Bethune Cookman yesterday, and Williams, batting third, had an incredible 6 hits in 7 at-bats, scored 2 runs, drove in 4, hit 2 doubles, and added a home run, his 3rd of the year, in the Knights’ 18-13 victory.

Tommy is off to a tremendous start to his 2015 college season; he’s hitting 452/500/679 in his first 21 games and 84 at-bats. He has scored 17 runs, driven in 25, hit 8 doubles, a triple, and 3 home runs, and has a solid 10/13 BB/K ratio. What a great start!

JoMarcos Woods (Waynesboro 2012-13) also had a solid game, going 2-3, with 3 runs, 3 RBIs, a triple and a home run. He’s off to a great start, too, as he’s hitting 382/468/588 in 68 at-bats.

As long as those two keep mashing, Central Florida will be in fine shape!
