Former Old Dominion left-hander and Luray Wrangler (2012), Ryan Yarbrough, made a fantastic 3-inning start last night for Everett in the short-season Northwest League.
Seattle’s 4th round pick in this June’s draft, Ryan threw 3 perfect innings while striking out 7. This was the second straight “shutout start” for Ryan, as he also threw 3 clean innings back on July 27th, although in that start, he allowed 2 hits and “only” struck out 5.
Yarbrough has had a delightful start to his pro career. He’s pitched in 9 games thus far (5 of which were starts), and he’s 0-1, 1.80, with 1 save, 16 hits, 3 walks, and 36 strikeouts in only 25 innings pitched.
